About Raum
Hey I'm Raum, but friends call me Rae. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Savanah Collage of Art and Design, where I honed my skills in naturalistic animation and body mechanics. Currently, I am exploring diverse animation styles, with a particular interest in bringing a more cartoony feel to my work.
Who is Rat Boy?
Growing up in Portland, Oregon, I was immersed in a vibrant culture of street art and local artists selling their work at farmers' markets throughout the city. Although 2D art is not my primary focus, it has played a significant role in shaping my identity.
During my time at SCAD, I have taken several 2D animation courses, which led me to cross paths with my mentor, Troy Gustafson. He would meet up with me to discuss my 3D work and give insightful feedback by looking at 3D animation through a 2D lens.
My symbol, Rat Boy, a 2D anthropomorphic rat-rabbit, is a tribute to my childhood and a nod of appreciation to the people who taught and inspired me along the way.
